Virginia Perry Gardiner

VIRGINIA PERRY GARDINER - was the Hasbro staff artist in 1966. After sculpting the heads for the G.I. Joe: Foreign Soldiers of the World line, she remembers how excited she was when the "Action Girl" concept was announced and worked many hours on this product. Unfortunately, the product line was scaled back to one figure of a G.I. Joe Nurse that was released in the boy's product line.

Virginia freelanced for Hasbro for many, many years. During her time at Hasbro, Virginia began breeding and exhibiting Great Danes. She found that there was a great demand for aesthetically correct canine pieces geared to breeders and dog exhibitors. She does limited editions in bronze and pewter and has branched off into jewelry in 18k gold. She had been a partner with Ana Goulet for twenty years in this business. Her artwork is in private collections all over the world and she is very well known in the purebred dog world.
